      Moving from virgin

Hello, I currently have 10mb broadband, virgins top v+ package and unlimited calls. We are looking to move to sky because of the amount of issues with have occured in the last month, and virgins terrible customer service.

Therefore I was wondering if anyone could give any advice on the best way to do this, or any advice for what to do once I get it.

(I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place)

      Re: Moving from virgin

First of all you will need to contact Virgin and tell them you want to terminate your contract. Make sure you get your migration number ( cant remember the correct name for this), don't let them fob you off, it is against the law not to give it to you. Then ring Sky and and advise them of your disconnection date with Virgin, tell them the number you got off them and that should ensure a straight forward change over with no interruption to your broadband connection.

      Re: Moving from virgin

Hi, I gather you are talking about the MAC code? This is a virgin cable line, rather than adsl, so I gather I don't need that.

I have read the instructions on skys website about moving from cable to sky, which seems quite simple. Just wondering if anyone else has advice to what i need to do, or best way to configuration my connection.

Sorry should have made it clear. Do you have a Bt landline, eg overhead line, or underground.

      Re: Moving from virgin

      Sorry mate ,

You need to get in touch with either Sky or BT and they will get you a BT line fitted (Sky line rental works out 1 cheaper).
