Only downside to skys is that you can only record 1 programme at a time, I think I might miss 2 programs :P
With Sky+ you can record 2 programs and watch another that you have recorded but not live, unless you use the terrestrial channels. You should also be able to do this with HD, but I have read that some boxes can't cope with it. I very seldom watch a program live, (except sports) you can then rip through the adverts in seconds.

How would you do this? Would the box just stop you watching the channel when you go to it?

Now I have, but really 15 credit is not much compared to the monthly and setup fees.

      Re: Moving from virgin

Pretty Much, its there full package with sky sports, sky movies satanta etc. Only one HD channel but thats all virgin currently do, but that is made up for free on demand service with HD content. This isn't the normal price though, it is a loyalty package.

If you mean what happens when you try to watch a 3rd live channel when recording 2 others. A screen comes up telling you you can't do it. You have the option to cancel one of the channels or return to one of those being recorded or a pre-recorded one.

With your loyalty payments you are probably better off with Cable. No matter how you do it, the initial set up cost for a phone line and HD TV is considerable. From what I have seen and heard, there is just no comparison between Sky's TV offerings and Virgin's. Sky have them beaten out of the park and Virgin know it, hence their loyalty schemes. The cost of HD, Mid and free calls, including internationals, would be about 64.00 a month. I think Sentana is an extra fiver, although I don't use it so I am not sure.

      Re: Moving from virgin

We would want the full mix, max broadband, and unlimited tv, with hd, which is 80 +12.99 for satanta.

As I have said earlier on this thread, we do not want to stay with virgin because we have received a terrible service from them.
