      New Netgear Router & Username & Password.

      Hi

      I have just received the new DG934G router as a replacement for the DG834GT. And have a couple of question's;

      Once the new router was connected to my line would the user name and password have changed? I'm assuming this is a possibility.

      Secondly just before my original router died my D/S connection speed was around 8000kps and I would receive about 5500kps to 6000kps actual download speed. Since the new router has been put on the line this has dropped to D/S connection 5500kps and actual download speed 4500kps.

      Could it be that the line is re-training or is there a potential problem with the new router?

      Thanks

      Re: New Netgear Router & Username & Password.

      The ADSL username and password would change as these are based on the individual router and not the user, as is the case with most other ISPs.

      The log in to the router status pages will be the same.

      It is possible you are part of the DLM testing which is creating havoc with connection speeds at the moment.
