last few weeks Our phone line had sudenly started going very fizzy ! like a constant crackling on the line , and this only happens when broadband is on and connected . As soon as i dissconect it dissapears .

Now over the past week ? i think ... my broadband speed has suddenly dropped to 4mbit

      heres my stats

adslctl: ADSL driver and PHY status

Remove the faceplate form your master socket, plug one phone and your router in via a filter, if that fixes it the problem is with your extensions.
If not swap the filter for another one.
If that doesn't work back to CS.

It may be DLM, but what you describe indicates a faulty filter or phone. Try the other filters with the router in the Test socket, with just a corded phone connected. I would also try unplugging and powering off any other phones you have connected.

The agent should only have mentioned DLM if it is showing on a test we run, if you are being trained by the DLM system they should have explained it a bit better to you.

Re: Really Fuzzy Line with sky broadband - Now half speed internet

BT will only check the voice side of the line, unless they are providing your BB they have no interest in saying anything else. Really you will need to call Sky BB tech again and ask if DLM is occuring on your line and then tell them about the noise, make sure they are aware it is only there when router is on the line and that all filters have been checked.
If you have a test socket plug into that before calling them, if the noise is only apparent when router is powered up leave it off till talking to the tier 1 and then turn the router on so that they can hear the difference it makes.
