Loads of slowdowns/disconnects then suddenly last 14 days problems gone

I've been on sky BB since it launched. It was great in the beginning. Very stable. Then about 6-9months ago, I started to have problems.

Loads of disconnects or slowdowns every couple of days.

Bought a new notebook a couple of months ago and had a terrible time getting a stable WiFi connection.

Then suddenly a couple of weeks ago, WiFi on the notebook connects everytime and then I realise that I haven't needed to reboot the router in a long time (usually would 2 or 3 days max). Check the status and its been up for 14days.

My question is, does anyone know if there have been any major changes to service or firmware in the last month that might explain this?

I had previously played around with router config, but hadn't touched it in months and was just cataloguing the service problems to send to sky.

I have the original white netgear router and its on firmware v1.03.87

      Thanks in advace.

you now have the new firmware which does handle the signal better than the last firmware version

(upgrade was rolled out about 6 weeks ago and was done in stages)

that's great. thanks. i did have a search around for mention of any firmware upgrade, but didn't find the post i needed.

found it now and posted a definite thumbs up for the firmware upgrade. i'm just glad it's the firmware and not some randomness that's giving me trouble-free internet.

      keep up the good work.

Sky have also been doing some work on exchanges which could account for your good fortune.
