      the errors are an indication of noise on the line - not a good thing when it comes to adsl bb...

      As has been mentioned, you have a very high error rate, it looks to be around 15%, which is far too high and will definitely cause problems. Are there any wires connected to the back of the faceplate? Apart from the incoming wires is anything else connected to terminals A and B in the Master socket? Can you see any other wires coming out of the socket?

      If the answer to these is no, try a quiet line test by plugging a corded phone into the Test socket and dialling 17070, option 2. You line should be clear with no pops hisses or clicks. If there is noise on the line phone whoever you pay your line rental too and tell them you have noise on your phone. Don't mention broadband, or possibly nothing will be done.
