      Basic broadband - 2gb/month

      hi,

i've just got a new braodband internet connection with sky.
i have the basic option, the one with a cap of 2gb/month.

i have a question about this cap: i only use the internet for online gaming and i think that doesnt represent a very heavy use . but i dont know if it will exceed the 2gb cap and i'm afraid i could be disconnected and "die" when playing because of this cap.

what happens when you exceed your monthly allowance ? do they descconnect your connection when you reach the 2gb, or they just give you a warning ?

Atthe moment i dont think there are any recorded situations in which sky have even warned users who have exceeded their download limits. Who knows in the future, but i would imagine their first point of contact would be in the form of a warning, and then an offer to upgrade.

It depends on how much gaming you do, World Of Warcraft uses about 23 meg/hour and lord of the rings online is closer to 30 meg/hour.

So anything over "moderate" use is probably going to go over, although nobody has posted on the forums for being kicked off for doing so although I would assume if Sky was to do anything they would suggest you'd upgrade to mid or max as a first step, but as I said beofre nobody really knows.
