To Cancel or not to Cancel?

Good morning to you all, my girlfriend and I bought a new place and will be moving at the end of the month into the new house. Now regarding the move for all the Sky stuff (SKY TV & Broadband) I have read some nasty stories about people moving house.
So I just wanted to see if anyone has some advice from the forum or someone working for SKY? The problem I have is at the new house there is no dish so SKY will have to supply & Install me with a new one which will cost me £50. I’m not in contract anymore so I can cancel any time… with that said it looks like it will be cheaper to cancel and get everything new again, which will cost me £30. Weird indeed.

      Any thoughts?

if you can get a new sky box and instalation for £30 i'd go for that

have you checked that in your new house you will be able to get Sky BB (also will you be abel to get the LLU service and not just the connect which may cos more)

apart form that i'm not sure what answers you are looking for

Just looking for some feedback from the community, on their own experience. Thanks for the replyís. Iím still wondering if they will charge me extra to run a second cable for Sky+ as will still have the box. Will give them a ring today and see what they say.

if sky plus is being fitted as a new cutomer with the dish, he would not need any money (unless you feel like giving him money) as it would be part of the install

Well my good people fromthe forum, Phoned sky and it will cost me alot more to cancel and reorder. So i'm going through the move process, fingers crossed it will go smoothly but you never know. Sky will be installing the TV and BT line will be installed on tuesday and then I need to phone Sky again to reorder my broadband. This will cost me £50 instaid of new install that would have cost me:-
*£22 for the rest of the month
      *£30 New install
      *£60 Broadband activation
and £44 for 2 month in advance ....

Got all this from the guy at SKY.

      Thanks for the relpy's

Regarding choice of broadband supplier, do you or your girlfriend have an O2 mobile phone? Have you read this or this?

Regarding provision of Sky TV have you read this and this?

      john

p.s. Couldn't you introduce your girlfriend as a new Sky customer?
