      Router stats - any good?

Hi I just wanted to know are my router stats any good because I have been experiencing slow loading times during random times of the day and it seems the only way to fix the problem is to unplug the router and plug it back in.

I am a bit puzzled by it all to be honest because its only started happening over the last 3 days or so and before this everything was fine and has been for the past 6 months or so. I just want to know if I have a lot of errors on the line etc or if everything seems to be OK?

Here are my stats from my version 1 sky router with updated f/w:

Your stats don't look too bad. The only thing I notice is that your Max delay seems to have been reduced

I could be wrong but the usual standard for this seems to be 64 8. Reducing the delay can destabilize the line, but whether it is in your case is hard to say. You have a good NM with few errors so it should not, but you never know, it may be.

Re: Router stats - any good?

Did you ask for your delay (ping time) to be reduced? I doubt if anything is wrong with the router.

Do a speedtest on SkyUser and if you have the older 834GT you could try the router speedtest on MelsNotes, scroll down a bit and you will find instructions on how to carry it out. Post the results, a comparison may reveal something.

Yea at one point I did ask for my Max Delays to be changed. Do you think I should get it reset?

      Thanks

Re: Router stats - any good?

As I said earlier, having the delay reduced can cause problems and it is possible it could be contributing. However I would leave it for a couple of days to see if your line settles back down. If BT are working on your exchange or close to your line, it could be effecting your connection. If it continues, ask Sky to reinstate the default setting.

How are your speeds on the testers?

i personally dont see how that is the Max Delay setting, as by default on any Sky LLU connection they're set to 32...

      ^^^^^^^^
You should know best, but I have never seen a standard setting that was not D: 64 8, with a maximum reduction this drops to D: 8 8. Or am I, and several others on the forum, wrong in thinking this indicates the Delay

Re: Router stats - any good?

With regards to delays, these are only changed when either you email in to ask them to be changed, or within conversation you ask them to be changed or you say about an xbox/wii/playstation then they may ask if you want them changed. As IamNotTheEnemy has said these are set to a standard of 32 Down 32 Up.

These do not get changed unless advised by the customer also a little testing is done on the line also.
