Existing broadband contract upgrade new contract length?

      hi

Currently I'm on the base contract and I'm tempted to upgrade to either the medium or large package.

Doing the stats on the router I get sync speed 2048 Attenuation 10db Noise margin 31.5.

Now for the hard bit using the speed estimation site it says I could get up to 8 meg speed with adsl and up to 20800 kbps on adsl2+.

      I'm on the cressington exchange
Samknows Broadband - Cressington (LVCRE) exchange

Now coming from cable all this is rather confusing, as my exchange is LLU enabled does this mean I should be able to get adsl2+ on my line.

Also if I upgrade does this reset my contract so I'm stuck on this new package for 12 months.

End of wall of text hehe.

With a line ATT of 10 you should get the max sync speeds of both mid and max.

I think the T & Cs make it clear that you will start a new contract period.-
      (i) Unless we agree otherwise, you cannot change your chosen Product unless Conditions 1(f), 5(b) or 7(a) apply. If, after your Minimum Term, you wish to change to another Product, you must end this Contract and enter into a new Sky Broadband subscription contract unless the circumstances set out in Conditions 1(f) and 7(a) apply.
Sky will usually upgrade a package without any problem, but degrading is another matter, so be sure you really want it before you decide. Going back to your existing package will not be possible within the contract period.

ah cool cheers for the replies.

I'll go for the max package then I think as it's only a tenner.

Hopefully I will get maximum speed and won't have to mess around buying new face plates etc.
