So if they dont place the order before my MAC runs out will it get refused by BT causing me to have to get another MAC and start the process all over again?

Thats all depends on how long you have had the MAC Key they last for 30 days so in theory you should be fine.

MAC codes last for 30 days from when they are created. It is not unknown for some ISPs to sit on them for a couple of weeks (or more) before issuing it to the end user!

This is quite common in the case of resellers / vISPs who get the MAC from the wholeseller, but don't make it available to the enduser in a timely fashion.

Sometimes it is the end users 'fault' as the MAC isn't issued until the final invoice (MAC code date + 30 days) is paid. Sometimes this is further compounded by slowly issuing the invoice!

If the vISPs account with the wholeseller isn't paid up to date, wholesellers have been known not to refuse to issue the MAC code to the vISP!

It is a well documented game.

If you use the MAC code straight away, and the new supply is enabled promptly, after switch over you lose those residual paid days of the 30 day MAC notice period!
