      Firefox

      Hiya Guys

Just registered with skyuser. Just a quickie.

I am thinking about installing firefox, could some of you guys tell me the advantages and dis-advatages of installing this little browser of ie 7.

Anyone looked at ie 8 yet, just a clue don't play with it yet I have found a fair few bugs with it. However it does work well.

      Regards

      Re: Firefox

Firefox imho is far better than IE. Install it and try it, if you don't like it uninstall it and go back to IE.

I have used FF for about 2 years now and couldn't go back to IE.

As for other users, here's some stats from our visitors on SkyUser:

      Internet Explorer 7.0 165298
      Firefox 2.0 159508
      Internet Explorer 6.0 124704

So all in all Firefox is used by a fair few people. You should find your browsing is significantly quicker as well

      Re: Firefox

And Firefox 3 beta 5 is much better/quicker at rendering pages so browsing with it is more appealing.

Also well worth exploring some of the add-ons, notable ones include Adblock, Flashblock, IE tab, and my personal favourite, Cool Iris.

      Re: Firefox

Fasterfox, FEBE (a back up facility for Bookmarks, cookies and stuff), Linkification, IE Tab, Reload Every and Well Rounded are a few that I use.
