Max Delays ; Ping, HELP !

A while ago i asked sky to fix my ping because all servers were 90ms+, and they did this and said we've changed max delays to 8/8. Now most pings are 40ms.

But i realised they capped my line to 2.5mb downstream and before they sorted my pings out it was about 3.8mb downstream.

Do you think it would be possible for them to rectify this whilst still maintaining strong pings ?

Re: Max Delays ; Ping, HELP !

This is what i just sent to them via the " KANA " form on their site.

      Hello.

A few months back i complained about having slow pings to almost all servers ( 90ms+ ) and Sky quickly sorted the problem out and now most servers pings are 44ms, i was also told my MAX DELAYS was set to 8/8.

I have checked my downstream sync and it is considerably slower than it was before i had the ping issue fixed, for the last month it has been 2.5mb sync - wheras before, it was 3.8mb.

Could you please rectify the slow sync speed of my line - whilst maintaining good ping latencys.

      Thank You

Nope you asked for max delay reduction and the lower speed is one of the outcomes of it.

Lowering max delay can make the line unstable, Sky have to reduce your line to give you a stable connection.

Re: Max Delays ; Ping, HELP !

Check your wiring. It may not be helping.

I re-wired and have almost doubled my downstream, upstream(tripled) and cut my pings by over half from 160ms to 21ms.

Your attenuation is quite high(a little higher than mine 55db) so you're never going to get a big downstream.

If gaming is your main thing, then max delay set to 8, with a cap ain't so bad.

Yeah i do gaming on my 360 and always notice lag on Fifa 08.

I used to have 3.7mb on a 59db line so it must be quite capable.

Also, i have tried the test socket but it made no difference because i assume my speed's limited

PS: you have insane upload speed.... HOW !
