^how so? Max is the top package so offer the best speeds...

and if he is on Mid, then he must've had a dozey CST agent raise it without knowing they're not meant to...

Maybe if you post your detailed stats someone could give you an idea of how much you have been capped. Capping the line does not usually increase the attenuation, so maybe your line has changed in some way.

Re: Max Delays ; Ping, HELP !

I'm on Mid, and i didn't get a dozey of a CST guy(luckily?). A 40 minute call and line setup for gaming, by a CST member who is a gamer himself.

I got lucky i guess, but i'd recommend to never bother emailing, always call. Because i emailed a ton of times about my Max Delay settings, and they told me enough times via email that it had already been changed and the CST guy told me there's never even been a request made to have them reduced.

The entire problem i had from the start, was being noted down at X position at the exchange when i was really at Y. So, giving my IP allowed him to track my line down and tweak it.

So basically Sky are full of crap unless you get through to CST and it's someone who knows what they're doing.

The guy on the phone said he was a part of a gaming clan 'Nocturnal Fear', obviously that's all he could say because he didn't want to be collecting his P45, but he was a great help.

ok, he blatantly broke the rules then - hope for his sake no one was grading that call...

I re-wired and have almost doubled my downstream, upstream(tripled) and cut my pings by over half from 160ms to 21ms.

Your attenuation is quite high(a little higher than mine 55db) so you're never going to get a big downstream.

If gaming is your main thing, then max delay set to 8, with a cap ain't so bad.
OK, I have similar results to you, but still don't get the pings you get. You talk of wiring... My faceplate has no wires attatched to it at all. Is that a good thing? I have a 20m phoneline all the way from the main socket into my bedroom where the router is at. Should I have wiring on the faceplate?

      Ok pings. (24/05/08)
