      Higher Ping

Anyone else suffering from an increase in latency?
My max delay is set at 8 which when originally changed last June gave me a 32ms ping to bbc/jolt (down from 90-100ms), but since last week my latency has gone up a bit to 42ms and TS confirmed max delay is unchanged at 8. Hop 4 on the Tracert used to be between 30-33ms. Sky TS seem to think its my internal wiring , but considering where the latency increaseS at hop 4, I very much doubt it.
Anyway they are also sending me out a new router as they also seem to think that it may be a failed firmware upgrade

that hop the OP mentions is designed to have loss over it - nothing can be done about it...

      Re: Higher Ping

my pings have changed in the last 4-5 days, i used to ping 26ms to bbc.co.uk, now its gone to 39-and the max 44ms, ive rebooted the router checked all cables and still the same. the internet is still mega quick. also having problems with lag on xbox live, im reluctant to ring sky up though as when i have before they have lowered my maxdelays but mess about with the speed. anyone from sky help me out?

But the loss on that hop used to be 32ms (since I joined Sky in March 07), so surely something can be done and also what has been done to the network for the latency to increase, is it part of the Sky line reprofiling. Since contacting TS they have lowered my sync rate and sent me out, what appears to be a reconditioned DG834GT V1, thinking that would solve the prob. Low and behold no change to profile or.
