      Re: Urgent firmware updated

well you can go back to the old firmware by usinhg the 'router upgrade' section of the router admin page. However, the sky system may just keep re-updating you to the new one. No-one has reported if the auto system upgrades more than once!?!?

Wehn you say you are now only getting 4Mb...... is that the router syncing at 4 or a dl test only gets 4, but the router is still at 16?

      Re: Urgent firmware updated

what do you get if you try the speedtest sites or try downloading a large file like:

Download details: Flight Simulator X Trial Version

The old firmware can be found in the file ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/GP...28_src.tar.bz2 (you are looking for the .img file inside the bz2 package)

      Re: Urgent firmware updated

nowt to do with the FW then.

Isnt it sick how newsgroups are sometimes rubbish - to use your phrase re the FW

Okay, its either the Newsserver having a bad time or you need to re-set up port forwarding in the router (that assumes you had previously set up port forwarding and the settings didnt save when the upgrade happened).

      Re: Urgent firmware updated

No No No - changing FW wont help if the Newserver is having a bad day!

It;s gotta be just coincidence that the Newserver is now only at 4Mb.
