      Mtu

      hi again, My MTU size is 1500 I was wondering if this is the cause of some of my problems. anyone know? most seem set around 1497 or less See 16mb only getting 2mb thread for my problems

      I think MTU will effect the downloading of pages but not your basic internet speed.

      If in doubt try changing the MTU, if the correct figure is 1500 then 1497 won't make much difference but if 1497 is correct and you set 1500 it will make a whole lot of difference.

      In the first case it's like not quite filling your petrol tank. In the second case it's like trying to get too much in and it starts spilling over and it needs cleaning up.
