      I really need help with my connection!!!

      I have been a sky customer since december and started on mid package, only couple days ago i upgraded to max. For the last month i had had disconnects from 1 - 2 hours but todays it seems to be every 10-15min. Im getting really depressed because i play on my xbox alot online and cant do so also i ring up sky and they always tell me the same stuff. my connection is set out like this master socket - telephone extension - filter (tried 4 differnt ones) - grey internet wire - router (black netgear). Can anybody help me out?

      For the best connection, do this.

      (1) If you have a NTE-5 master socket, get a filter faceplate (XTE-2005 adsl nation).

      (2) Put your router close to the master and connect to the filter faceplate with a short lead as possible.

      (3) Connect router to PC with network cable (cat5) or mains network adaptors, never use wireless unless there is no other alternative.

      If you have an NTE5 socket, remove the faceplate and plug the router into into it via a filter. Do not use an extension. If this cures your problems, do as Brian suggests and get an ADSL Nation faceplate and a longer RJ11 extension if you need it.
