Re: sky told me today that there is defiantly a 10 day traing for mid

The BT checker has proved to be very inaccurate, often underestimating by 100%. With an attenuation of 63, you will be very lucky to get more than 2500kbps.

As far as I can see, BTs much vaunted 21c, is nothing more than catching up with ISPs who are supplying ADSL2+ at the moment, such as Sky, Be etc. It just means that BTs resellers, like Plusnet, will be able to offer up to 16/24Mb instead of the 8Mbs they do at the moment.

However, there is a new system in the works that will allow the lines to sync at the best speed possible for the line. Think of it as an automatic auto regrade, except it actually works properly and doesn't set your line to some ridiculous number.
You mean Seamless Rate Adaption? or something else?

The reason I ask is that SRA was working on my line for a bit (not anymore).

Probably because you announced it on here. Sky do not use SRA and anyone who reports that they have it are then hunted down.

afaik Sky have no plans to start using SRA.

NOTE: We do not pass any info on our members to Sky, so they obviously have a way of tracking it down.

thats why your router is connecting at 2.5meg
nothing to do with 10 day tests its the distance from exchange and the quality of both external and internal phone cables
are you using router at first or master BT socket, as using extension wires or boxes can reduce connection speed i get 16379 at master socket but it drops to around 5500 when i use a 25 meter extension cable

If it goes upto 3.5mb I would be very surprised. Its quite simply a case of you are just too far from the exchange.

If you can try the test socket behind the master socket, that should give you the best stats.

it was worth a shot but it seems your line attentuation and noise levels are going to hold you back cant see sky being able to increase sync speed much but its worth letting them try, i was told i couldnt getr more then 2.5 - 3 meg by Bt sky put me on 8meg on the strenght of this info from Bt finally got some help and was put onto 16mb connection which router stats achieved

I should think having your exchange listed in your Skyuser profile would be a fair help to them
