    sagem router

    This is a discussion on sagem router within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; the Phase 2 Netgear is also 54Mbps - have people forgotten this?? only the white Phase 1 Netgear was 108Mbps ...

      the Phase 2 Netgear is also 54Mbps - have people forgotten this??

      only the white Phase 1 Netgear was 108Mbps - and even that wasn't a 'proper' standard...

      and do NOT stream video over wireless - not even worth the bother...

      tnx for reply. i assumed it would do, but wanted to make sure. as video streaming is more popular now, how will it cope with that, being a 54g router?
      sorry. posted at same time as you IANTE. question answered.
      i assume, therefore, that sky dont want people streaming video then?

      it won't (well, not HD content anyway) - and no wireless will...as wireless is rubbish!!! use homeplugs instead...

      54Mbps is more than enough to stream HD. The problem is, this is a theoretical speed, in the real world you would be lucky to get half this. Even so given good conditions it should be sufficient as, according to the "experts" HD requires anything between 5 and 20 Mbps, depending on which one you believe. For a good consistent performance, you can't beat wires.
