      Noise on Line

I moved to sky from Be last week. My downstream SNR has lowered to 6 from around 8 and my sync speed to 11000kbps from 17000kbps.

Now iv just noticed that when using my phone theirs a sort of crackling or hissing on the line. If i plug the phone directly into the socket it disapears. I've tried several microfilters and the noise n the phone is always there unless i dont use a filter. Anyone know what could be causing this? And could this be related to my sync speed and snr lowering?

Is that socket the test socket ? If not try that it sounds like a faulty extension.

It would have been better if you continued with your original post, members would have been able to refer back without too much trouble. Have you done what was suggested and tried the Test socket? Have you tried the filters which worked OK with BE? You seem to be experiencing the opposite of what should happen, ie the filters prevent noise crossing over from ADSL to voice. Are you certain the phone is not faulty?
