It appears you may be capped. Why I don't know, unless you have phoned Sky and complained about slow speed. You will have to call them, get past tier 1 to the real support, called CST. Ask them to check your connection and lift the cap on it. You are correct, you should be syncing at the maximum speed with an attenuation of 17 dbs. Your noise margin indicates that you should get at least another 2000kbps.

      Re: Upstream Speed & snr

More concernd with the upload atm tho - just phoned tier 1 and they said leave it plugged into test socket for 24 hours and ive seen the following changes in last 20 min:
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6940 kbps 284 kbps
Line Attenuation 18 db 4.5 db
Noise Margin 15 db 19 db

      then 5 min later:
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6940 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 18 db 4.5 db
Noise Margin 15 db 19 db

I dont know if its something Sky are doing or something to do with being plugged into test socket or both?

Try a reboot and report your stats?

Getting better, think this must be near my max for the mid package, just scared it will all go wrong again once i've taken it out of thetest socket?

      Re: Upstream Speed & snr

It could be the test socket is helping, but I still think you are capped. It is very noticeable that almost every figure except you sync is changing, which definitely indicates a cap on the line. Phone them again and get the cap off and I am fairly sure you upload will rise.

Just seen your latest, it is looking much better. As NR asks reboot, maybe even a couple of times, then report again.

      Re: Upstream Speed & snr

re-booted and plugged back into normal socket, looking ok so far:
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8125 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 18 db 4.5 db
Noise Margin 11 db 19 db

Speed test comes back with 6900 down and 340 up which is pretty good.
