      Hi Dog-man.
If thats the reason have you contacted Nuisance call advisers on 0800 661 441. There are lots of things that can be done and you may not need to change your number.

      Well, no.

When I say nuisance calls, it's actually work phoning me constantly asking me to do overtime or change shifts when I make it clear I don't want them to bother me at home.

If they want me to do overtime, they can ask me at work.

My free time at home with my family is my time and I don't want them to keep pestering me.

why don't you use caller display to see who is calling and just don't answer - if they withold their number get anonymous call rejection from BT (although I think this costs)

then you won't be bothered by work

      Re: Changing telephone number

I think anonymous call rejection is the way forward, as they sometimes hide their number.

I am also looking for a phone that has the facility to barr certain numbers if such a phone exists.

      Re: Changing telephone number

I am aware that it is harrassment and a breach of your human rights.

The BBC did a news story about this very issue not too long after the human rights act was implemented.

I have discussed this with my union, and they are useless.

It seems that our union is more employer friendly than membership friendly.

People are leaving it in droves at the moment.

Why dont you just say that you have got rid of your telephone line? Seriously though, speaking as a union rep, have you tried contacting the area union services?

      Re: Changing telephone number

I gave my employers my "new" mobile number, telling them we'd dropped the landline in favour of a much cheaper service. I warned them that calls to the "old" number would go astray as it was being reassigned. I got myself a caller display 'phone and didn't pick up if it was them calling or the number was withheld. The mobile was a free PAYG Orange sim which I switched off as I left work. End of problem. Simple.
