New FW for V1 Router - Is it any better?

Now that the roll outs of the new V1 FW have started and people are reporting that they have received it, if you had a problem with the old one, is this any better?

Feedback as you feel fit....

Oh and add your exchange to the thread.

So does 'NO' mean the performance is the same as before or 'NO' the performance is worse. Could do with that option being split out to

Yes its better
No its the same
No its worse

Re: New FW for V1 Router - Is it any better?

It's been running on the new firmware for 29 hours now.

The speed i am connected at would have definately caused a drop in the connection and reboot on the old firmware.

Noise margin is steady at >7 through the day, it dropped as low as 6.8 at around 9.30 last night but no problems.

Yes, it's better at holding the connection, as for upnp i haven't switched it on so i couldn't tell you about that.

Re: New FW for V1 Router - Is it any better?

I have voted as "No it is worse" because two mornings running now I have had no internet access for the wires until I reboot the router. The odd thing is the wireless side of it works fine as I can connect to the net with my PDA. Lets see what tomorrow morning brings...

If you're having continual problems with the new Firmware give Sky a call - you'll probably be offered new router!
