Re: Sky Broadband Users and Firefox 2.0.0.13.

My firewall is Comodo. Havent had to switch it off before when updating Firefox. I can browse with 2.0.0.13 but...the intermittent on...off...on of the 'not responding' was doing my head in.

      Stopped when I installed 2.0.0.12.
My firewall is active in the sence....always notifies me when it needs to re-let a programme back through.

Been on the sky servers for 5 days now. This only appeared three days ago.
The update was an automatic one.

Is there any other reasons why a browser would do this?

I didn't install my 2.0.0.12 from filehippo. I installed it from Mozilla first. Like always.
But when I back-tracked to reinstall it instead of 2.0.0.13....I went to filehippo...cause i find it handy to have all those things in one place.

i have Vista HP 32-bit, Comodo and FF working fine - weird why there have been issues...

having said that this is the first time I've tried FF so was straight on 2.0.0.13 so perhaps its the update thats weird...

I'm not sure that's true. If it was a common problem then with so many users around the world I think there would be more "noise" about the problem.

There's a discussion thread here which may help those affected (could be an obscure profile issue).

Another commonality seems to be the 'Woot' add-ons and certain toolbars. In past upgrades, extensions and add-ons which were not compatible, were disabled and not installed in the new upgrade. It looks like this time either the compatibility check has messed up or simply has not been done. Saving your Bookmarks, uninstalling FF completely and then reinstalling may be a work around, or you can install the old version and leave yourself open to attack. I am going to install Version 3 on one of my machines to see how it performs.

Re: Sky Broadband Users and Firefox 2.0.0.13.

I've had this problem and I have mentioned it in another thread. Could not get version 2.0.0.13. working at all; either as an upgrade or a fresh install. My solution? Uninstall completely and then reinstall previous version (kept the .exe file as a 'just in case') in a different folder. FF now fine again. Will not be upgrading to v. 13 - ever.
