      can anybody please give me a bit of advice ?
      i have had sky broadband for over a year with a speed of about 6.5mb
      which has been ok but over the last few days my speed has dropped to what
      i used to get on dialup years ago

      There is no Tier 3, only Zhul or rather the Customer Solutions Team...

      no viruses/spyware all ok
      i am only getting 10k from anywhere including giganews which i normally get
      at full speed.

      what does an http download give you (like the ones HERE)?

      also, are you running off an extention?

      8.1KB/sec from big download

      no extentions i have a engineer fitted box
      when i first got broadband from openworld you had to have a engineer fit it
      i dont use filters i just plug into small socket on a BT socket on wall

      so removing the filtered faceplate might have a test socket inside? if so, try it there with a filter...

      other than that there's nothing to suggest an issue...

      can anybody confirm if these settings are correct as a friend has just been around
      and said my router shows diffrent reading to his
      Channel: Interleave
      and this setting is lower

      i have remove the face plate and put a filter in the socket behind and got my speed back
      can i leave it plugged in all the time to the back or do i need to get a new box ?
