      Will Sky Improve My Ping.

I am thinking of sending this to sky via the broadband enquiry form...

Hello. Please could this request be sent immediately to tier 3 if possible.

I am having a slow upload speed and bad ping speed when i play games on my console. With my old ISP the speed was slower but the ping was much better, i want this to be rectified promptly as i hear the line's max delays can be adjusted to ' 8 ' which helps drastically as far as ping and upload is concerned.
My current ping on all U.K servers is above 100ms which is dire for a 3mb line, considering it was 40ms on my old 2mb line.

If this procedure is not carried out i will strongly be thinking of terminating my broadband with Sky Easynet.

My IP address is 90.***.**.97 and i am expecting to see changes for the better in my Ping and Upload if possible.

I take it you are putting more details in that email so that sky can identify you and sky might not change the max delay for you as the connection is only 3mbps and the connection can become unstable and dropout.

one thing i forgot to say is that you need to read my signiture as there is no more tier 3

Best thing to do... Ring them up. That way, you can ask them to tweak it to as best your line can handle. E.g. they capped me at the highest stable speed as possible because they monitored it as I was running tests to them on the phone. Also, it was the same with my ping. They lowered delays, and I would ping to bbc after they tweaked it everytime, so I got optimum performance. I am on MAX, get about 600 - 650 kbs upload, 3300 kbs download. And ping to bbc at average 33ms.

      Ok pings. (24/05/08)
