Your exchange is enabled for llu form sky see this url:

Samknows Broadband - Bridgwater (WWBWAT) exchange

so that means that it would be cheaper for you to move to sky so i think you should go for it.

I left BT as I was fed up paying there high prices, like you I was very happy with the connection I had but to save myself quite a few s over the course of a year I decided to go to Sky and now have a rock solid connection for just a fiver a month.

i have a friend on bt broadband option 3 around 27 per month she is currnetly setting up sky tv for herself (sky+) will be seriously considering sky max broadband as she only gets .75 meg beacause she is far from exchange but needs unlimited beacause their is pc / laptops being used sometimes together, like the look of 10 unlimited with a good chance of higher speeds from adsl2+

more speed less cost .......no brainer

if she is far from the exchange then ADSL2+ wont work, the unlimited side of max will be the advantage.

if sky does not have a LUA IN BRIDGWATER sky will charge u an extra 17 a month..
Typical BT scare tactics, even if you are not on an LLU exchange, you would be on Connect, which is the same as you are on except there is a 40Gb download limit. This costs 17 a month, nothing extra about it.

Put your phone number into the box on ThisPage and you can find out what Sky can offer you. Although the exchange is enabled, there may not be places on the LLU.

Finally, many have difficulties with Sky when they first join and many more don't. For an up to 8mb for a fiver and up to 16mb, unlimited, for a tenner, the Sky deal just cannot be beaten. You have an advantage in that you have found this forum, so if you do have problems, you know where to come

While I am not going to put the boot in to BT retail too much, as I am a BT/Openreach employee, I left BT Broadband for Sky. And that should tell you all you need to know about BT Broadband!!

Re: join sky orstay with BT Advise please

I have Max which is a tenner a month, rumoured 250gb cap although never enforced and as a gamer my average ping is bout 35 (your son will know what a ping is) Even when you get connected and your ping may be higher you can request this to be lowered.

As for uploads, on BT normally is approx 416 on Max its approx 768 - therefore more can be uploaded quicker than a BT based service.
