    Slow speed

      Slow speed

      Hi,

      I am getting around 700k for upload wich is great but only about 5mb for download im convenced I should be getting atleast 6mb here is some info



      My upload is pretty good, I cant improve it, but im sure I can improve my download. Any suggestions?

      looks like a line problem (as opposed to being capped by sky)
      could you do some comparison stats from the Test socket (see first link in my sig)

      Everytime I reconnect I get faster, its ok now cant complain with 6.2k I think my line can only take 6.5 its werid though gone up about 1.2k with just connecting

      if your happy thats good, but a test from the "test" socket would confirm the best you could get

      Uploaded the wrong image. but the test plug was getting 5.1k now i am getting 6.2k

      are you sure it was the master socket ?
      i only say this because with an attenuation of 17, you should be getting the full whack on the max package

      have a look cabling and faceplate forum for tips on how to improve your internal wiring (again i will say if you are happy then all is good, and you can leave your setup as it is)

      Well I done a speed test and its rubbish its not the same as what the router thinks. Router thinks im getting 6.1 speed test says im getting 5k hmm

      do a speed test on the skyuser speed test and post them back here (link in left panel)

      If that is the correct attenuation then you should be getting nearer 16Mb than 6. Something is definitely wrong with your set up, probably internal wiring. Fix that and you will be
