tier 1 are good but tbh you're best bet is to call later at night as there are more uk based agents available then so they should get what you want and pass you through...for the most part tier 1 fix issues in one go - this forum just highlights the ones they don't!!

Remember when you phone back to be nice, the next person who answers will not be the same person you spoke to a miniute ago.

i also wonder if its worth starting a thread about some of the answers people get from T1 about there connections (could also add about the sales telling people they can use there own router)

I know a few People from sky look here and it may aid in the training process for them ?

No problem, I know the T1 people are trying to help so I am always courteous.

I'll get back onto them and see if I can progress further.

      Thanks guys.

      Re: Connection Speed Query

      Well, I'm no further forward.
It seems that because I'm getting an 8mbps connection, I'm within the parameters for the max connection. And as I'm still within the 10 day connection period, I will have to wait before thats up before I will be put through to CST.

The girl was pleasant and as helpful as she could be, but ultimately when tech problems like this arise, its a hinderance not a help

      Re: Connection Speed Query

There is a small chance that the ADSL faceplate supplied originally by BT may not perform too well with the high speed you are getting now, especially if you are put on ADSL2+. I would advise you to undo the 2 screws holding it on and plug one of the Sky filters into the exposed socket. See what your stats report, if your connection speed and/or noise margin rise appreciably, then replace the faceplate with a new one. I am not certain, but I think even on G.DMT or ADSL1, you connection speed should be higher, given your very low attenuation.

i think the 8160 is the cap for GDMT, as you say i have also seen higher but thats normally a mistake
agree about the faceplate, think there is another live thread at the mo with this

@ orbit - there is no 10 day training on sky max / mid /base, this should only apply to the Connect package AFAIK
