      Month usage allowance question

      Hi I'm a little unsure as to what the usage allowance actually means. As I've just switched over to Sky and got their TV package and basic broadband as all I use it for is browsing the net. So I didn't see any point in paying for one of the other packages, now I've got two questions;

      1. Is the usage allowance how much you can download per month?

      2. I have a PS3 which I occasionally play online games such as Call of Duty 4 and FIFA 08. Will my monthly usage allowance affect this in anyway, or will it only affect it is I download from the PS3 network store?

      Thanks

      Mike

      Re: Month usage allowance question

      Hi

      1. Is the usage allowance how much you can download per month?
      On Base the usage allowance is 2GB a month. Which means that amount of data is allowed to be used / downloaded in a month.

      No one has ever been kicked off for exceeding this though.

      2. I have a PS3 which I occasionally play online games such as Call of Duty 4 and FIFA 08. Will my monthly usage allowance affect this in anyway, or will it only affect it is I download from the PS3 network store?
      When you play games on your PS3 you will be eating into this allowance. Granted not a lot though.

      In all honesty Sky do not seem to be bothered about enforcing the caps / limits so just go about your own thing. If it does concern Sky they will soon get in touch with you about it.

      Re: Month usage allowance question

      what are they likely to do against users exceeding their limits? i think i came close to it though a few weeks ago when i was dowloading several game demos, the connection would drop intermittently and firefox would not resume the download after the router reconnected which meant i had to restart the download wasting my 'allowance'.
