those stats show no reason what so ever as to why it disconnects...how are you connected? are you wireless? do the lights go off or stay on? are you running off an extention socket/cable?

      Re: sky broadbands disconnecting

On Saturday I was disconnected over a dozen times. Didn't go online on Sunday but have gone online this evening and so far I've been disconnected four times. I've tried to ring Sky but I got a message saying their help services is undergoing maintenance and to call back after 6pm tomorrow.

      Re: sky broadbands disconnecting

Just tried to do the stats using the methods in your sig but can't get either to work.

The BSR gives me the following:

"10/03/2008 21:18:35, INFO, Communication with the router has been established. Auto-reboot functionality is now enabled.
10/03/2008 21:18:35, WARNING, Problem communicating with router. Auto-reboot functionality is now disabled.
      10/03/2008 21:18:35, STATS, ?; ? kbps; ? db; ? bytes; ? bytes"

All options above Enter/Leave Maintenance mode are greyed out.

The other method was just giving me page not found.

      Re: sky broadbands disconnecting

If you do the following you will be able to see how often your pc is connecting to router.

start /run / type CMD / in the black box type ping 192.168.0.1-t this will either say 'reply from 192.168.0.1' or '192.168.0.1 did not respond' something on these lines. If it keeps saying there is a reply then the communication between your pc and router are fine and it's a probably a line fault. If it keeps saying did not respond you have a fault with your line between the pc and router. This could be computer problem i.e wireless adapter, network card, cat5 cable or the router itself. hope this helps

      Simple Stats

These can be obtained from the router very simply, but the information that they give is limited.
Log into the web admin by pointing your web browser at the router (192.168.0.1)
Enter the user name and password to go in.
The main page shows some useful information such as connection speed.
Click on the "Show Statistics" button slightly for more detailed information such as SNR.
does this not work ? (should be able to see something like OP stats posted)

When it stops working, does the Internet light on the router go off or change colour (to amber) at all?

I think this suggest that the connection between the PC and router is dropping, not the internet connection. When it happens look at the router and see if the internet light and the port light you are using are on, off or blinking.
