It also looks like your been capped to 8Mb.
Ive tried re-booting the router but this doesn't have any effect on the speed.

It won`t necessarily have an effect on speed but an SNR of 15.5 is a bug and rebooting should give a correct reading of your SNR and therefore some idea of what your maximum download speed should be.

its not necessarily a bug - it might be the right reading...

It would be strange if it were a router fault when your router stats are reporting the maximum connection rate for Connect. I think your problem is probably elsewhere, although I suppose it could be a fault in the router as opposed to the Modem.

Can you do a speed test, wired, at Sky User - Broadband Speed Tester and report the result. It would be better if you unplugged any machines not being used in the test, including switching off the wireless, to give a clean result.

If you get the same, or very similar result from your other PCs, I would say it points to a router side fault. The new router will be the proof of the pudding

It could be that your line dropped to a low sync at one point and BT dropped your BRAS profile down to 500k. Once the line is back up at 8Mb sync it can take 3 days for the profile to readjust. You may find the speed goes back up all of a sudden for no apparent reason.
