Could someone please check my stats

Hi i'm new to posting on this forum but have been lurking before i connected to max with sky. I've been connexted a week now and apart from an occaisional hiccup have been quite happy. Could someone please check my stats to see if there is anything i could do to improve my speed. I am 1.9km away from the exchange and these stats are from the BT test socket.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6912 kbps 160 kbps
Line Attenuation 40 db 10.5 db
Noise Margin 7 db 7 db

My apologies if posted in wrong forum, please feel free to move this post if required

The downstream speed doesn't look too bad for your downstream attenuation figure, but I'm surprised by the very low upstream speed, although by the looks of it, that the fastest the router could negotiate. In fact it's very odd. I've never seen figures like it.

So downstream is fine, but there may be something wrong with the upstream.

looks better, you should be able to connect at 8meg with your attenuation (7 at the moment)
this may be down to an extention if you use one, if you wanted to get that little bit more out of it, you could try plugging into the master or test socket

have a gander in the cabling and face plate forum

Thanks for the reply these results are through the test socket. There's marginal difference between doing them through the faceplate and test socket
