To be honest the best way is the BT tracker on there site. It's under the small and medium business area for some reason. Check the order status of any work on your landline number.

I am due to be activated on thurs and have the same reservations so i'll join you in the boat of optimism here haha!

The reason its on there is thats the Openreach side and they are the people who do all the work at the exchanges etc.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Checked on bt tracker & there is something to complete tomorrow but when i tried to look at the details it said this "We weren't able to retrieve your order information. This could be a temporary system issue, please try again later. "

We live in hope, i have been without BB at home since 31st August & it's been a nightmare !

Best advice is check the BT tracker the night before activation and again on the morning it's due to be activated. It seems to be updated overnight and if its still showing we can do this on as the same date.....it may well happen.

The only way you'll know its happening is when your phone line suddenly goes dead with no dial tone and you lose your internet connection................with much luck and a half competent BT engineer about half an hour later the magic happens.

I'm in exactly the same situation as you, I am due to be activated tomorrow and my BT tracker message says the same as yours..
"We weren't able to retrieve your order information. This could be a temporary system issue, please try again later."
The above message doesn't fill me with confidence.

I've been without BB since 22nd August when Euro1net had their IP stream cut off by BT for not paying the bills. They have since ceased trading and are long gone.
If I have to use dial-up for much longer I will have no hair left to pull out.

Lets hope we get online tomorrow.
