Can I just clarify - was the router plugged into the test socket while you were using the wifi laptop with no problems? If I am reading this correctly, are you plugged into an extension (back room) while using your wired connection?

^^^^ what speeds did you get with your other providers, what speeds do you get now, what is your set up (wired/wireless),where do you plug the router into, whats your attenuation, whats your noise margin, what do you get if you plug into the test socket, have you done a quite line test

the sagem router is by all accounts better than the old V1 netgear router and i have the v1 router, which works fine

      Re: Intermittent Disconnection

The router is usually plugged into the back room socket as that's where my 2 pc's are.

When I was testing and getting the results posted above I used the laptop hard wired to the router in the backroom and also with the router connected directly (through a filter) into the test socket. It's just easier to use the laptop rather than dismantling my desk and moving a whole PC.

Both test results were virtually identical.

My previous isp was Telewest cable so none of this was an issue.

Router usually in back room, using test plug socket makes no difference, no quiet line test, I need to source a corded phone, I only have handsfree in the house.

That happens quite often when hijack attempts are made.

I wonder how many have come on this forum blaming the 'crappy' Sky router and left with their problem solved after discovering that the problems were with their own wiring

I have searched the site looking for an explanation of the full results so i can see where the errors you talk about are. Is there such an explanation anywhere?

Read through the posts regarding increased connection speeds by using the test socket, I assume that as my results were the same as on my extension and the test socket, this shows that my internal wiring is all ok ?

Haven't been able to locate a cabled phone to try for external noise yet so no more results tonight

There is an explanation in a sticky somewhere, but post 3 of this thread gives you the info-
Detailed stats - explanation of them ?

      More info here-
