      Constant disconnecting

I've seen the numerous threads with the search function but i was wondering if anyone who has had this problem has found a fix other than the switching off of uPnP (tryed this) also changed filter tryed master socket etc

Well the story go's on wednesday at around 2100hrs i was getting realy bad lag spikes in game so i rebooted the router and then cound'nt obtain an ip. so i went to bed got home from work the next day tryed internet and was realy slow so i ping bbc.co.uk and ping of between 1800ms and 300ms with lots of packet loss so i ring sky and told them the issue they opend a ticket. I ring them back today and got escalated to somewhere else told them the problem they did some changes to the line and did'nt fix it at the time but at about 1700hrs my line seemed to be stable with constant ping of 31ms to bbc.co.uk and no packet loss then the disconnecting started i would be connected for about 7min and connection would drop sometimes was lucky and got ten min out of it.

it's been allright for the past year and a 5 month but since wednesday it's been shockingly poop

      Re: Constant disconnecting

are you wired or wireless ?

also do you have a "test" socket (see first link in my sig), if so could you do a comparison from it

Edit: if you have the white netgear router could you post some detailed stats (see second link in my sig and look for the mognuts utility)

      Re: Constant disconnecting

the problems on wednesday were all over and not just confined to your connection.
it would seem by your stats you have been capped in response to your call to Sky (it is the norm for sky to do this once a ticket has been opened and the tech's look at your errors)

saying that, with your attenuation you should have been able to get the full 16meg, but looking at your sig you had about about 11meg after you call to sky even with the cap you still seem to be getting errors which would lead me to think you have a line problem

you say you have tried the master socket, but have you used the "test" socket behind the face plate, if you could try and post some comparison stats

(note, at the moment you have been moved to GDMT form ADSL2+)

I knew about the problem on wednesday but my problem was totaly different to the dead connection the uk experienced i had latency and packet loss issues after that. On the plus side sky have just called me telling me it was faulty equipment causing my packet loss and ultra high latencys and has been replaced and are resnycing me @ the best i can get which is 13.3Mbs

      and thanks for the replys

      Edit now syncing @ 13mb w/ ping of 24ms to bbc.co.uk
