Hi this means that someone has acesessed your email account in the form of spyware and is happily sending out spam emails to all and sundry. Bulk sending of emails is against Sky t/cs and that is why they have suspended your connection. It does show the importance of having an up to date anti virus programme installed on your computer. Have you formated your hard drive as the letter has said and not just installed protection.

Dont know about Mcafee lol, their are better free anti virus programmes around which do not hog the system . I can only assume that Sky meant that you had sent too many emails.

When will Abuse give out their own fsking number and open sensible fsking times, like weekends and after 5pm!

if calling 08705 515 515, option 1 then 3 is tech support - and it aint nothing to do with them!!

call customer services and ask to be put through to Abuse (between 9-5 of course) and you can speak to them direct...just don't call tech as all they'll do is tell you you're suspended (which you already know)

      Re: Letter From Sky

Oh i got that sorted. We rang them and they said format pc and then ring them back.
An hour later after it had finished rang that number option 1 then 3 and he said ok we will switch you back on. (Can take 24hours)
And then straight away the green light was on and back to normal!

Just wanted to if I had downloaded over the limit as the woman on the phone said we had exceeded our limit (Some crap about fair use policy) but the letter said different...

I guess she was reading off a que card or something.

      Re: Letter From Sky

The call agent may have made a mistake - there are no limits on Max, but there are on Mid and Base. But SPAM will be detected - there can't be an ISP who cannot anymore.

De-activation and re-activation can be very quick. I think the "can be up to 24 hours" is a legacy bit of scripting on her display page.
