Requested Max Delays lowered now connection is dead

      Hi,

I just joined Sky Broadband Mid and the forum. I found articles relating to the max delays to improve pings - I play Counterstrike:Source online and really struggled to join servers, although connection and downloads were ok.

I requested my Max Delays were lowered to 8, and now I can't surf. Here are some of my stats. If anyone can offer some advice before I go back to the sky support people I'd appreciate it ! Would it help if I rewired my master socket ?

Re: Requested Max Delays lowered now connection is dead

We've been seeing issues like this occasionally on the Sky BB helpdesk where the problem shows with a 256k upload. I notice your upload is at 256k, can you try restarting your router till it goes back to a normal higher rate and try again.

Also, the very low noise margin on the upstream is a giveaway of this problem too.

Re: Requested Max Delays lowered now connection is dead

I tried restarting it half a dozen times last night, and it was the same result. Is it worth submiting that info back to the Sky BB helpdesk ? I'm nervous they'll just reverse the max delays change which will ruin my counterstrike:source.

The fix shouldn't involve changing you delays from 8, but tech support can be variable.

you need the line profile for the upload adjusted manually by CST - should then work...
