      downgrading Sky BB

OK, we have MAX just now, and only get around 3meg.
Its 10, and I am trying to help save my mum some money at least, as she is not technical minded.

Would downgrading to MID be better, for the 5 pm, and what would that mean for us, as my sister uses the connection wirelessly?

upstream connection would change from 768 to 416 (or 384, they may have changed it?). and also you would only get a 40gig mothly usage allowance rather than unlimited on max (but they do not at the moment seem to police this)

should have no effect on the wireless

I doubt if Sky will allow you to downgrade until your 12 month period is up. I think they will only consider a downgrade if your speed is very low, 512kbps for instance, they will not consider 3mbps low. There is no harm in asking them

      SkyTerms
      i) Unless we agree otherwise, you cannot change your chosen Product unless Conditions 1(f), 5(b) or 7(a) apply. If, after your Minimum Term, you wish to change to another Product, you must end this Contract and enter into a new Sky Broadband subscription contract unless the circumstances set out in Conditions 1(f) and 7(a) apply.

As above, you cannot downgrade within the first 12 months of contract unless there is something serioulsy wrong with your speeds.

      Your in luck then

Phone Customer Services and set things in motion. They will probably want you to accept another 12 month contract, but if you are happy that shouldn't be too bad.
