      Right - All sorted

Had openworld come round & remove the old cablr from the telegraph poll & re fit new line into house with XTE-2005 master socket faceplate.

      My stats now read:-

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 66356 94814 0 0 0 5:13:47
      LAN 55 0 0 0 0 5:15:00
      WLAN 332304 304040 0 0 0 5:14:39
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 9056 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.0 db 21.5 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 13.0 db

      WHAT A DIFFERENCE :-)

Now do you think i will benefit from ADSL 2+ considering i am only 1.2km from my exchange?

      Best regards
      Andrew

Are you sure you're not already on ADSL2Plus with that sync speed?

^^ its strange thats what i thought, but looking at his upstream (768) it would seem to indicate GDMT
i have seen others on this connect higher, but its normally a mistake/error at sky (i think GDMT is ok up to about 11meg, but sky have set it at 8160)

      Hi

According to SKY, i'm only on ADSL at present??!!

I'm not totally sure they know what they're doing up there to be honest, but then again, neither am I ;-)

More likely you have been capped, your noise margin has risen quite a bit.

      auto regrade...

      and i don't think you'd see much over 10Mbps on adsl2+ tbh...

still, if you can get cst on the phone then by all means try it but whoever set your line to over 8Mbps on gdmt is prob gonna get flagged...
