      Download Limit

Sorry if this question has been answered before but I would like to be able to see how much I have downloaded during each month so that my limit isn't exceeded. My previous ISP provided this information when I logged in to its portal.
      Many thanks

      Re: Download Limit

I think you will have to use some sort of utility (Download Meter or something for windows) to do this. I know when I was with Zen I could view my usage history via their portal but I don't think you can with Sky.

As balloon says you will need a utility as sky dont provide this info. I use this one which has proved to be reliable and its free.

      Re: Download Limit

Sky have not enforced any limits that we are really aware of.

You will have to monitor it yourself.

      Re: Download Limit

Hmm, if this is true that they haven't actually enforced any of their bandwith limits, I might have been more hesitant in upgrading!

I will see the benefit of the extra speed though too so I can't really complain.

To be quiet honest, i wouldnt bother to monitor limits if Sky are not enforcing this matter. Let them supply us with a usage tool come the day they do

      Re: Download Limit

And don't forget "download" limit is a misnomer, it is total bandwidth use that they will use.

So any p2p use such as Xbox Live, or BBC iPlayer can clock up a surprising amount as you are uploading a fair bit of data as well as downloading.

Frankly BT have dropped their limits and I can't see Sky enforcing it too hard unless you are using many hundreds of gigabytes for 3-4 months.

Also if you are bandwidth hungry say at 2am they are less likely to care than if you were doing the same thing at 7pm as peak time use will be at a premium.

      Re: Download Limit

I wouldn't worry too much about measuring your download limit at the moment, last month i downloaded in excess of 50gig and im on the Mid package, haven't heard as much as a whisper from Sky yet, fingers crossed.
