      Re: Increase Line Bandwidth? How?

^^^ Your connection speed is 8096 down and 768 up which is usually the max for Sky G.DMT. Speed tests will report a little less than that due to overheads.

      Re: Increase Line Bandwidth? How?

so a phone to sky telling them to put me on the adsl2+
should benefit me speed wise yes?

sorry to sound noob-ish! but it does get a bit confusing!

thanks for the help and support so far

      Re: Increase Line Bandwidth? How?

Yes, on ADSL2+ with your line attenuation you should in theory be able to sync at the maximum 16 mbps if your line is noise free. However your SNR (noise margin) is not fantastically high at present so I think I would expect a bit less than that. Certainly no harm in asking to be switched over.

      Re: Increase Line Bandwidth? How?

is there anything i can do to increase my snr?

im not sure how it has been done
but as we have 2 bt lines
it has to be a master socket im connected to
and the only thing connected to it is my router

if there is a way to increase my snr ? by opening up the socket?
      or is this not recomended?

You can remove the front plate of the Master socket and plug directly into the Test socket. With no extensions this should make no difference, but there is a slight chance that the faceplate is faulty. Try it and see if you noise margin goes up, if it does, just leave it there and phone Sky. Even if Sky have to cap you when you are on ADSL2+, you should get more than you are now.

hi basically i took a look at my socket
i tested it in the test socket and got the same results
how ever i removed some more screws to find something a bit strange
basically i have a black wire containing 4 wires
      green
      black
      orange
      and white

the orange is coneected to B
the white is connected to A

the black and green are not connected to anything
      is this normal?

yes, the stats dont relate to a long enough period to show anything. As the others have said a switch to adsl2+ should give a significant increase in sync.

      im on the phone now

they are saying that the oly way to increase the line to take higher speeds is to move closer to the exchange!!

im trying to speak to someone ese regarding the g.dmt to adsl2+
