You are not activated, odds are that your router has picked up a test signal, this is why customers are told not to plug a router into the line until the activation date. Once it activated properly you will get your proper config file, unplug the router for now as you should really not be using it until the activation date or you may find yourself having to call Sky Tech support to get your router re-hit with the correct config.

Paul is probably correct, but have a read at This Thread to give you a head start on what to do if it does not improve on your official activation day.

Re: 288k connect up and down - early activation

You normally receive a voice mail from BT when the line is activated but basically just leave it unplugged tonight and plug in tomorrow sometime. As long as all is well on the connection you should find the BB kicks into life as soon as everything syncs up.

As you are on Connect, which is ADSLMax, have a read of this Plusnet feature in particular the 'First 10 days section', you will get no advice from Sky.

well the activation has been and gone, sky confirm its active, yet its still sync-ing at 288 up and 288 down...

where do I go from here? is this the same fault or is it maybe due to turning my router on early?

It has nothing to do with plugging you Router in early. Read the link given in Post 3, for information on the pain suffered by others in your position.

Re: 288k connect up and down - early activation

Geoff from CST rang me to say they have put an order in for BT to regrade the line and it will be done by Friday.

Im pleased that after a few emails they esclated it and called me back. If the changes are made, then good customer service Sky.
