Does my desktop need to be wireless?

      Hi all,

Just new here, have searched forum for answer but couldn't find it. Hope you can help.

[1] I have my laptop connecting wirelessly to Sky wireless router and Sky BB - works very well.

[2]My desktop is connected to the router with ethernet cable supplied.

[3]Desktop also connected to Sky BB - works great

[4]I'd like to be able to use my laptop (wireless) to see my desktop, browse files etc on the desktop.

Does my desktop also need to be wireless, or can it be made visible to the laptop via the router and the ethernet cable which connects the desktop to the router?

      Any help offered gratefully received.

      Thanks,

      Kevin

Nope. Just need to set all PCs up so that they are on the same workgroup and then share the folders/ files that you want to be seen across the network.
