Looking at your stats there's nothing obviously wrong - in fact your connection looks good enough to support Max (ADSL2+) and you'd probably get the full 16meg.

As others have said you are definitely on LLU Mid not Connect. Please change your Skyuser profile.

So what's the problem? Well I'd bet it's 99% certain to be a wireless problem, hence why I asked earlier how you were connected. Try wired to check and if that shows no problems then you need to do a bit of tweaking to your wireless connection i.e. experiment with channel changes, router position etc and make sure you keep any other electrical devices which give out rf well away from the router and the PC.

The firmware for the V1 router can be found on the disc that came with the router. If your connection is good with the Netgear firmware, you may wish to wait to reflash to the original Sky firmware until the new version is released (you need to be running the original before the it will automatically upgrade to the new).

So does LLu display "Easynet" on speedtest.net? I thought sky dedicated system would display sky.

And they wonder why people get confused.

Easynet is owned by Sky. All Sky LLU is Easynet.

      Re: Soooooo Slooooow! HELP!

OK peeps, this is the latest (whether you wanted to know or not!)..
I have hooked the sky router back up and reflashed it with the original sky firmware. nIt seems to be working much better than before. This could be a coincidence with an issue at the exchange being resolved or maybe something I (with your help) have changed.

So if I run a speed test I am getting about a 4meg connection not quite the 8meg it is supposed to be but its not bad. Insidently the exchange is 250 meters away (as a crow flies).

So, is this normal or should I expect the full 8meg? I am considering upgrading to the MAX product but don't want to if I am not going to achieve a significant speed hike.

      Any advice recieved appreciated.

Please read the replies already given. It can be very frustrating to spend time trying to help only for that to be ignored. You've been told several times what the issue (probably) is

      Re: Soooooo Slooooow! HELP!

it all depends on your line quality and line distance and bt might have run your line halfway round the countryside before it comes to your house so although you only live 250 meters away from the exchange your line could be 4000 meters long

It's not - his attenuation is only 19db. That makes the line length ~1.3km.

I understand that. I am in the process of running through all the tweaks etc that are supposed to help the speed.

Do the speed tests test the speed between my pc and the nominated server or between my router and the nominated server? Any ideas?

Your PC and the server, that is why you are always advised to use ethernet, rather than wireless.
