router connection status..does it mean this ?

hi , for the last couple of days i have been having intermittent disconnections(several times per day)..when sat at the pc it is easy to know when i have lost connection..but when away obviously i cannot tell how long connection has lasted for..because when router disconnects..it reconnects itself pretty quickly...i have now changed original sky filters with my own filters i used originally...my question is as follows..having copied the following details from my router..do these figures mean that i have not been disconnected at all for almost 9hrs..or do they mean something totally different...many thanks in advance

Those aren't the stats needed, to see what is happening we need things like noise margin, attenuation etc. SkyUser - Router Stats V2

      Hi Worcesterman47.
To be honest, with your present line, (joints, noise on voice, etc) I would not be supprised to see dropped connections. As you have repairs to this in hand, I would suggest that as a stop gap you dissconnect your ring wire ( the wire or wires to 3 in your master socket) and see how that goes. I would not advise you go any further at this stage, other than to buy a filter faceplate in preparation for your new master socket. Do you have a time frame for when Openreach will replace the pole?

Re: router connection status..does it mean this ?

hi again brian ( thought you would track me down ..at the moment NO timeframe as to when pole etc will be fixed...in the meantime though i have changed filter set up...when i first set up router i used my old (orange) filters & never noticed any disconnections..then i thought i would fit sky filters as i thought originally that could be why i was not getting d/load speed i was expecting ( i know better now)...but since yesterday at 3 pm when i switched to old orange filters..i have noticed NO disconnections again..but not being at the pc all day it was difficult to know if i had or had not been disconnected ( as i said before..because router reconnects on its own)..so i am trying to find out if there is ANY WAY.. i could track how many times i do get disconnected in a day..then i would know that switching filters is working or not working..cheers again matey

Well you have got me started now!. All "soap on a rope" filters that come with your router from your ISP (including BT Broadband, Orange or Sky) are at best poor. When dsl was an eng fitted service (I used to do it then) faceplate filters were the norm. You could check the secuirty logs to see if it shows dissconnects.
If you were a good DIYer, and as your line is about to be replaced anyway, then I would suggest you get a ladder and replace your feed from where it joins your home, to the master socket as a temp measure.

Well I have only had Sky for a week, and two days of that have been spent sorting a faulty router, so give me a break
