      Sky BB and downgrading

      Hi folks,

I have a couple of questions relating to the broadband packages.

I am coming up to the end of my 12-month contract. At present, I am on the MAX - £10 per month, unlimited downloads blah blah..

As I can only get 256k download speeds and to be honest, there is no way I can utilise the download speeds of the MAX, I am considering downgrading my package either to the BASE or MID.

The question I have is that because of the distance I am from the exchange and the resultant noise I cannot afford to make changes to my signal that will result in even more loss. Will downgrading make this more apparent or does it make no difference to the quality I receive?

Basically, will downgrading lessen the speeds I receive even more? If so Iíll leave well alone.

      Thanks

      DM

Should make very little difference to your resulting service to be honest.

It's worth noting that any changes (e.g. caps/margins/delays/INP) Sky technical support have made on the line will be lost if/when you regrade.

Oh..... it took a couple of months to get a stable speed of 256. I don't think I could cope with the hassle of all the calls etc for the sake of a fiver.

Does anyone know if the tech support people have the ability to simply transfer the changes over on regrade.
