As for Sky blocking Rapidshare, I would imagine that blocking P2P traffic would make far more sense as that is a far bigger threat to bandwidth than Rapidshare ever would be.

      Re: Sky Block rapidshare.com?

I'll do this because you have asked but this happens, on a fresh reloaded Windows and linux, so it's nothing to do with the hosts files.

      127.0.0.1 localhost
      ::1 localhost*

*Not sure I want to delete that, don't know what it is but like I said, fresh reload of Windows and linux this happens.

      Re: Sky Block rapidshare.com?

I can access rapidshare.com and www.rapidshare.com but as soon as I attempt to download a file it fails. Oddly I am not getting any 500 messages, just - This page cannot be displayed blah blah. If I use FlashGet I get this:

      Tue Jun 10 21:36:02 2008 HTTP/1.0 302 Moved Temporarily
Tue Jun 10 21:36:02 2008 P3P: CP="ALL DSP COR CURa ADMa DEVa TAIa PSAa PSDa IVAa IVDa CONa TELa OUR STP UNI NAV STA PRE"
      Tue Jun 10 21:36:02 2008 Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2008 20:36:17 GMT
      Tue Jun 10 21:36:02 2008 Accept-Ranges: bytes

tracert works every time as does ping. If I tracert the actual address it connects too in this case 'rs49tg.rapidshare.com' it also works, but I cannot connect to it.

      Re: Sky Block rapidshare.com?

I really cannot suggest anything to try apart from what you have already done so. Its obvious there is a problem for some Sky customers, but I honestly believe that it is nothing to do with Sky. Either a routing problem or a problem with Rapidshare itself.

I don't think its intentional - put it that way.

      Re: Sky Block rapidshare.com?

Okay I might call sky tomorrow, it is alive again now so it's okay for now

GRRR, it starts by going VERY Slowly and then it stops and disconnects. This never used to happen and I don't see it with other sites (Yup gone again)

      and back again!

If you do a Google search for CP="ALL DSP COR CURa ADMa DEVa TAIa PSAa PSDa IVAa IVDa CONa TELa OUR STP UNI NAV STA PRE" you will find several pages of queries. Most of these concern mass downloaders and Rapid Share, I don't think there is any specific to Sky. It seems to be a RS message.

Just remember this happens, in Linux, Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer too.
