Thinking about moving to Sky broadband...

Just had a bill from my current ISP and it has made me think about taking up sky broadband (am already a Sky+ customer) am just wondering if there's anything I should know / be aware of before I take the plunge. I am aware of the fact that they send out their own router, and am fine with this although I would like something different since I have been using a Netgear DG834GT for 2 years now.. (not that I don't like it/or that there's anything wrong with it, it has been absolutely fine) Am looking for as fast as I can get - am currently on 8mb but would like 16MB or faster if possible (would be going for the max package). Have heard/seen mumblings of ADSL2+ at 24MBPS although nothing is apparent on the Sky site (unless I've missed something) I know all this is exchange dependent, but I'm curious.

      Oh and Hi btw

      Andrew

      Hi

      Sky offer upto 16Mb

Do you know your attenuation? If so stick it in here for a rough guide to potential speeds.

      SkyUser - ADSL2 Line Speed Checker - upto 24mb

      ADSL2+ Speed Test
We estimate your line is capable of between 16mb to 24mb broadband on an ADSL2+ service.

      ooo that would be nice

Theoretically you should get approx 15.3Mb on Sky then for a measly Ten pounds a month. What a rip off !!!!

      Good luck

Check your exchange make sure you are able to get LLU first, and even then itís not a done deal, there may be no capacity, the take up for sky broadband seems to be on a roll at the moment.
      Good luck.....

All checks are happy for Sky broadband, have ordered MAX from sky, and requested MAC from existing ISP...
